GALLIANO 1998

Let's just quickly flash back to John Galliano's Fall Winter 1998 collection.

A spectacle it was.

The footage shows lost models pretentiously circling tables of people to a soundtrack of 90's techno, an up-tempo jungle style edit of Madonna's "Frozen", happy time circus tunes and a more hyperactive version of "Money" sung by Liza Minnelli from "Cabaret" while and endless amount of money falls from the ceiling.

As for the fashion, we see a lot of full body gimp-esque suits, head caps, oversized fur coats, pantaloon style onesies and embellished evening dresses.

Please marvel at the creative genius that is John Galliano.

HAMANSUTRA

Hamansutra is a New York based multidirectional communication creator. After studying at Central St Martins in London, he went on to establish himself in the fashion industries of London, Hamburg and Munich, to eventually gain the attention and applause of big dog clients such as Audi, Nike and Microsoft.

He uses fashion design as his medium to communicate ideas and thoughts to a larger audience. His design concepts are largely focused on the ideas of freedom, and the often strenuous obstacles that we are faced with on our path to independence.

Hamansutra's collection titled "Artificial Skin" explores the idea that we are all slowly becoming more and more transparent in this overtly controlled world in which we live. He's ultimately attempting to inform us that we have a second skin, which now covers every little part of our lives, making technology and our surrounds a part of our "natural" existence.

He also designed the costumes for Sonique's music video for the song "Another World". Hamansutra forces the audience to forgive Sonique for such a terrible song.

I'll say no more, check it all out below, or on his website.

HOW NOW BRAUNER COW

A relatively unfamiliar name in the thorough histories of the Surrealist art movement is Victor Brauner, a Romanian Jewish artist who's paintings many would liken to the works of Miro and Arp, and sculptures to those by Man Ray.

It's easy to appreciate his use of bright and poppy colours, his obsession with animals, and the somewhat sexual approach that he exhibits in his works.

Loves it.

THE BEST TRIP EVER

One of the things you learn after years of dealing with drug people, is that you can turn your back on a person but you can never turn your back on a drug.
Especially when it's waving a razor sharp hunting knife in your eye.
What was I doing out here?
What was the meaning of this trip?
Was I just roaming around in a drug frenzy of some kind?
Or had I really come out here to Las Vegas to work on a story?
Who are these people?
These faces?
Where do they come from?
